Frequently asked questions

We help to find answers to the most frequently asked questions about our business and products.
  • What is the mission and purpose of the business, why do you do it? Where did you get the idea to start it?

Our company was founded 30 years ago as a family business. In 2019, the dairy was built next to the farmland and cowshed that existed from the beginning, as the final milestone of the farm-to-table concept. The name ZILDA was created from the initials of the family members' names. ZILDA Dairy was created because the owners wanted to process their high quality milk to the highest standards.

Their aim was to create a value-added food product through a controlled process from raw material to finished product, and to do this they travelled the world in search of dairy products that could embody this excellent raw material. This is how they found Italian cheese and Italian technology. The chosen technology was implemented at the plant and production started.

In 2021, there was a change of ownership, but ZILDA's goal remained the same: to produce quality food, non-GMO, A2 milk cheeses and yoghurts without added colouring or preservatives.

  • What do you think are the most unique features of the company, what makes it different from other companies offering similar services?

Our company as a whole works as one unit. The concept of farm to fork can be achieved because all our colleagues work to keep the production process running smoothly from the beginning (field) to the end (yoghurt and cheese). How does ZILDA give more than the average dairy? In a highly controlled hygienic environment, we try to put every drop of extra quality non-GMO and A2 raw material into the product, so that the dairy products we produce have the highest possible enjoyment value.

  • What, why and for whom are ZILDA products a good choice?

Our consumer base includes everyone who wants to eat consciously, whether they are young adults, older adults or even parents who want to give their children the best. As the products are made from A2 milk, based on our feedback and experience, they can be consumed by lactose intolerant and milk protein allergic people with no or minimal symptoms, so I would definitely put them in this group.

Our products are of high quality, so I think ZILDA is a good choice for all platforms such as online markets that sell premium products, small or large shops, bakeries that are in direct contact with demanding consumers.

  • What would motivate them to choose a ZILDA product?

Of course, the average consumer is curious about the products, the milk protein allergy sufferer is no longer necessarily forced to eat vegetable cheeses, the lactose intolerant can eat products they have been forced to avoid. Conscious eaters will benefit from a product made from quality ingredients, free of additives, colours and preservatives.

  • Do you offer a guarantee on anything?

Our products will maintain their high quality within their shelf life, provided there is no break in the cold chain during transport. We also guarantee that only quality ingredients are used in our products, which are manufactured under strict hygiene standards.

  • What makes your products premium?

Our ambition: we believe that in today's world, if you produce food using only natural ingredients in a GMO-free production structure, without preservatives, stock improvers, colourings, and with such a long shelf-life, you are trying to do a lot for the health of consumers and to meet specific nutritional needs.

  • Where did you first hear about A2 milk and what is it?

We started in this direction based on the idea of our cattle sector manager, which is gaining popularity mainly in New Zealand, Australia. There is always room for improvement, so we decided to go down this road ourselves, and from this point on all inseminations on our cattle farm are done with A2 hereditary material. It is worth knowing that the protein structure of A2 milk is similar to that of mother's milk, which may be the secret of its beneficial effects.

  • Why has Italian technology been installed at the plant? How should this be conceived?

Italian cheese-making dates back centuries. In Italy, everyone can find a cheese to suit their palate and they are all unique. Not only is their cheese world famous, but also their creamy yoghurts. It was this idea that prompted the installation of the technology at the plant. All the machinery and equipment came from Italy and Italian craftsmen supervised the installation.

  • What type of products do you have? Do you have ripened cheese?

We mainly produce fresh cheeses, whey cheese and yoghurts. For the moment we only have very short ripening products, which are ripened in the open air for 2 weeks in total. But we plan to produce a fuller-bodied cheese in the future, for those who like more mature cheeses.

  • If I go to your shop from the street, can I buy products?

Unfortunately, no. Our plant serves small and wholesale units. We are very happy to help you find them, but due to our strict hygiene rules, there are no sales to consumers at the plant.

  • Do the cattle only eat feed that is grown on your land?

While they eat feed grown on our own land, feeding cattle is much more complex than that in our case. In order to produce good quality milk and to keep them healthy, it is very important to include other supplements in their diet: from non-GMO protein sources to various vitamin and mineral supplements, there are many ingredients in our animals' diets.

  • What are the words, topics and keywords that cover your services?

    A2 milk, quality, excellent raw material, GMO-free, colouring-free, additive-free, preservative-free.
